Cancellation Policy
Cancellation, Late Cancellation, and No-Show Policy
Your scheduled appointment time is reserved specifically for you. I make every effort to begin and end sessions on time and to respect the time you have set aside for therapy. I ask that clients extend the same consideration when managing scheduled appointments.
I also maintain this policy because appointment times are limited. When sufficient notice is provided, a canceled appointment can often be offered to another client who may be waiting for an opening that week.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice whenever possible.
For clients using private/commercial insurance appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice will be subject to a $75 late-cancellation fee.
For clients using self-pay appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice will forfeit the total cost of the prepaid session.
After three late cancellations, your standing or recurring appointment time will be removed from the schedule. At that point, you may:
Medicaid Clients
In accordance with applicable Medicaid billing requirements, clients using Medicaid will not be charged a late-cancellation fee.
However, because appointment availability is limited, a late cancellation may result in the removal of your standing or recurring appointment time. You may continue to schedule appointments individually based on availability. If this arrangement does not meet your treatment needs, referrals to another clinician may be provided.
No-Call/No-Show Appointments
A no-call/no-show occurs when a client does not attend a scheduled appointment and does not contact the therapist to cancel or reschedule the appointment.
For clients using private insurance, self-pay, Medicaid, or other state-funded insurance, a no-call/no-show may result in discontinuation of services with this clinician and referral to another provider for continued care.
Whenever clinically appropriate, reasonable efforts will be made to provide referral options to support continuity of care.
Why This Policy Matters
This policy is not intended to punish clients for circumstances that arise. Its purpose is to create a therapeutic practice built on mutual respect, consistency, and accessibility.
I will respect your time, and I ask that you respect the time that has been reserved for you. Timely cancellations also allow me to offer appointments to clients who may be on a waitlist or who need additional support during a particular week.
I recognize that emergencies, illnesses, and unexpected circumstances can occur. When something outside of your control affects your ability to attend an appointment, please communicate with me as soon as reasonably possible.
By participating in services, clients acknowledge that they have received, reviewed, and understand this cancellation, late-cancellation, and no-show policy.
