About Lawrence W. Rodgers
Lawrence W. Rodgers is a licensed therapist, pastor, and chaplain who brings together clinical insight, emotional intelligence, and lived experience to support individuals, couples, and families navigating life’s complexities.
His work is grounded, relational, and practical. Clients often describe him as calm, thoughtful, and deeply present—someone who listens carefully and helps them make sense of what they are experiencing without rushing the process.
Professional Background
Lawrence holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and practices as a Limited Licensed Master Social Worker (LLMSW) in the state of Michigan under clinical supervision. His therapeutic approach is client-centered, collaborative, and informed by evidence-based methods.
In addition to his clinical training, Lawrence has served for many years as a senior pastor and workplace chaplain. These roles have shaped his ability to sit with people in moments of crisis, transition, uncertainty, and grief. He understands how emotional pain, identity, purpose, and relationships often intersect.
How He Works With Clients
Lawrence believes therapy should feel human, not clinical or mechanical. Sessions are structured, but flexible—guided by the client’s needs, pace, and goals.
His work often includes emotional regulation strategies, insight-oriented exploration, cognitive and behavioral tools, and meaning-centered conversations that help clients better understand themselves and their patterns.
Whether someone is navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship stress, burnout, or a major life transition, Lawrence focuses on helping clients develop clarity, resilience, and practical coping skills that support lasting change.
Lived Experience and Perspective
Lawrence’s work is also informed by lived experience. In 2025, he experienced the loss of his younger sister—a grief that reshaped how he understands presence, compassion, and the complexity of loss.
This experience deepened his ability to support clients who are grieving or carrying invisible pain. He does not approach grief with platitudes or timelines, but with patience, respect, and the understanding that healing looks different for everyone.
Beyond the Therapy Room
Outside of clinical work, Lawrence is actively involved in leadership, community engagement, and writing. He is passionate about emotional wellness, social responsibility, and helping people live with intention.
He works with adults, couples, children, and families, and also offers coaching services for individuals seeking clarity, direction, and growth outside of a clinical framework.
